It's even wet  'n windy down here in (usually) sunny Bournemouth. So with nowt to do and nowhere to go I had a lie in until noon.

How many roads must a man walk down ... ... ... ... ... before he knows he's lost!

Just had my car (and bungalow) jet-washed by an absolute deluge. Ciara celebrated her work with an extraordinary clap of thunder that I can only describe as being akin to dropping a large steel skip onto concrete.

Sufferin' succotash!

Well, I've decided to brave it. There seems to be a lull 'ere in 'ampshire. The dogs need walking, we don't have a chicken to roast and more importantly the wine cellar  ;) is at zero.

Operation Tree Dodging! Hope to speak to you all later.

On a plus note the fence belongs to next door so at least we don't have to pay for it  :)

Cheers weave  :beers:

We've got 70mph winds here in North Oxfordshire, the two horses are having a duvet day today. All four field shelters are, currently, upright and, currently, still have all panels intact. It's pretty crap on the yard with the wind and the horizontal lashing rain. Because they're in all day the two horses need regular skipping out, checking, fresh water etc., so it's pretty grim going out there.

I'm trying to make the best of it.

Hmmm, hope the wife's okay.

Sometimes you bite the dog...

...sometimes the dog bites you!

I can explain it to you...

...but I can't understand it for you.

Yes, I've just braved it to walk to the allotment. Very easy going, blown all the way but a struggle into the teeth of the gale, and uphill, coming back.
At least the shed and greenhouse are still where I left them  :D
And, like Weave, popped into the village shop for supplies of the bottled variety  :beers:
Home again now to watch the end of the cricket.
I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.

I now have one 6ft fence panel hanging half out of its concrete posts and another being shaken to bits. Think blokey next door and I need a talk about something different being put in :hmmm:
This wind is set in until mid afternoon Tuesday it would seem :uneasy:

Have just seen some pictures of garden trampolines that have blown onto the tracks suspending the services in a couple of places, and one that actually hit a  stationary train.

Not only an eyesore but also a flaming menace.
The owners who failed to secure them properly should be thankful that they didn't hit a person or a moving vehicle.

Rail advent.co.uk reports that the storm has led to waist height water and torn through Haworth shed, KWVR home to 45212 and 45596 Bahamas, a diesel railcar plus theres a photo of a 37 submerged up to above the bogies. PARTS of cumbria, preston to penrith and the blackpool lines plus rochdale todmorden line and Stansted airport line are badly under water

They have just had the call to go and get their second free meal of the day!

Were they able to keep the first one down, then?
;)

Mr Sprue

Just spoken to a pal of mine who has been stuck out there all day in the channel (La Manche if your French) on a P&O ferry bound for Dover, they cant sail into Dover port as it is deemed too dangerous. So they are holding out in deeper water until the storm passes.

Earlier a rouge wave broached the ship broadsides heeling her over to a very concerning angle from the force of the wave, this guy has been sailing with me so I know from experience he doesn't scare easily! But he did sound a little concerned on the situation.

They have just had the call to go and get their second free meal of the day!

No probs, it's odd though - I would have expected a post to retain its original timestamp, even after editing.

I think it could be down to the fact I deleted by mistake!  :-[
