This was bound to happen with the Shark as I have just re-started my NGS kit

In all seriousness I would only pick up an RTR Shark if it was available off the shelf, I don’t want to commit to another “Pre-order” model company just now. I have an established backlog with Revolution who are delivering great things which I am happy with. If I miss out on a Shark then that’s my loss.

I had a look at the 00 GT3 at Warley and I know at least one relatively high profile 00 gauge person has committed to one, so I wish that model well (as I do the company).

Will follow the already long saga of the King, from aside, with interest as well.

Just posted on the Ngauge@groups.io

"KRModels have indicated they will be using modified DJM CADs as the basis for a King class locomotive and a Shark brake van."

which seems to confirm the changed nature of the CAD I observed above.  Lets see where it goes from here.

Hi guys,

So here is the issue.  I firmly believe that N scalers have the right to have the same opportunities as the OO gauge modellers.  However, I am well aware that there are a lot fewer N gauge modellers out there than OO gauge ones.  That being said, I'm still willing to make any model if it is viable.  You can't make a model on the off chance it will sell.  That also goes for the OO gauge we are making too.  By the middle of this year we will have produced our first model.  Even Revolution does not have the capital to just invest in a model and they do have a proven track record with crowdfunding.

BRM did jump the gun by making the announcement, but we did buy the old CAD files from the liquidator and have finished them off. We do hope that you will have some faith in us to bring them to market.

Hi @KR Models

Totally agree - a hobby for us but a business for you.  I am just hoping you are able to bring the Shark to market.

Best of luck with your endeavours.

Kind regards

Many thanks Paddy,

It will only see the light of day, if there's enough interest.  If not then it stays dead.

Hi @KR Models

Fair enough - where and when can someone express an interest?

Many thanks

We are just finalizing the details but the first week in March. For the Shark.  We are attending the International N gauge show in September to showcase our plans.

Hello all,

Good luck to KR Models in producing the Shark and their other proposed models.

Just one slight correction: while the majority of Revolution models are crowdfunded, the Ealnos box wagon in 00 was not, and nor are the 00 Ecofret and N KUA nuclear flask wagon.

Cheers

Ben A.

First of all can I thank you on behalf of many modellers who will appreciate the salvaging of the CAD, and in an above the counter manner.  I for one am happy to invest is these models as and when you are ready, but take your time and get it right rather than rush and waste the opportunity.

@KR Models,  thats good news about the Shark Project.

I hope you can bring it to fruition, as I’d certainly be interested in a pair and will register my interest when it’s possible.

But I think you’ll need to take a leaf out of RevolutioNs book in keeping people in the picture regarding progress as well as keeping the project in the modelling public’s eye!

Good luck with it KR Models!

I was keen on the DJM King, so I suspect you will get interest from me for one when the time comes. The Sharks are also an interesting choice I had them on pre-order with Hattons I think.
Still planning a layout...

Me too, I am interested in both the King and a couple of Sharks.

Unfortunate that DJM was not able to bring them to market, but all the best to KR with their endeavors.

There was enough interest in a DJM king. I paid my 50% up front to Dave using my debit card (bad mistake) and I have now rather lost interest in a king. Its left a bad taste in my mouth which won't go away for a while even though I know KR has nothing to do with DJM. Perhaps if KR Models has a few successes in OO and the Shark happens I might become interested in a king once more. I wish KR all the best and hope to see many new products from them over the years. In the circumstances would it be better for king orders if there were a few success stories for KR to show before closing orders for the king?

I'm glad you are posting in this forum.
Working doesn't seem to be the perfect thing for me so I'll continue to play.

The DJM King only became financially viable when Digitrains put in a big order. I wish Keith the best of luck, as more entrants can only be a good thing, but communication is key, and I hope lessons have been learnt from the GT3, as there aren’t enough N gauge buyers to alienate many!

BRM did jump the gun by making the announcement, but we did buy the old CAD files from the liquidator and have finished them off. We do hope that you will have some faith in us to bring them to market.

Didn't BRM also do this to RevolutioN or another business on the verge of a launch?  Announcing things ahead of an embargo...

Good luck with this though, I was on the verge of ordering a King but at that time there were then rumblings so held off, would be good to have another chance to support a new effort though.

RevolutioN seemingly have gone from crowdfunding to having built a customer base where they can also commission new models with intro pricing and not have to run as a crowdfund per se. It is all good for us though!!
