Small Loco Body Fixing Screws - Where to Find?
« on: November 20, 2019, 12:19:06 PM »
I have a few projects where I could do with some of the very small fixing screws used in the Dapol / Farish locos for fixing various parts together.

These aren't for any one specific purpose so cant be much more specific than that but does anyone know where I can source a bunch of them from? I assume possibly electronics type retailers...?

Google isn't being very helpful here as I don't have a specific search term.

Happy with either physical stores on online retailers.

Id rather not go for Bachmann / DCC Supplies themselves as the screws don't need to be 'official' and from other parts I've purchased they seem quite expensive!

Thanks in advance.

Hi Dalteth,

I have just been looking on Amazon for some bits and pieces for my new layout, so I had a quick look for you to see if there was anything there.

I found these watch-makers / jewelers micro screws and nuts and bolts. They may be useful for you ?

https://www.amazon.co.uk/slp/micro-screws/8tjw9cyk6mxv8gu

£5.99 for 1000+ pieces, and some come with screwdriver and / or tweezers  :D

Hope this is useful

All best wishes

Kevin

Yeah, ebay and amazon are a good source.  I also saw some of the same boxes for sale on a tool stand at the recent Faversham show.

I had forgotten about Modelfixings Oscar

They have a great range off stuff, and their service is excellent. I got all the fixings for my control panel from them  :D
