Thatís the Ecofret wagons launched on the Revolution shop, with the early bird price, £70 for the twins and £95 for the triples.
Would have been good to have seen these over 3 instalments this time considering the present climate.

I often see these on the container trains travelling alongside the A14 on the line between Felixstowe and Ely.

They do tend to be mixed in with the 60 ft wagons....

Woohoo! That's exciting.

Clicky.

There's a 50/50 instalment option, Mike's been really upfront that the instalments thing causes them a huge headache, so I think that's wholly reasonable. I'm right in Saying Freightliner don't use them, do they? They use the FLAs...?

Freightliner use the VTG green ones - for some reason they're not Freightliner branded. I'll try to make that clearer on the product page.

Cheers Mike

Hi Ron

As Nick says, we are offering our usual 50/50 split.  The only model we offered 3 instalments on was the 92 and that has proven to be a nightmare with our software. Even 50/50 creates a lot more admin for us.

Cheers Mike

Probably, but I was too lazy to look that thread up, and their omission from Gareth's excellent lists wouldn't show that FL don't use them!

Thanks Mike, looks like I'll need some green ones too then.

I also think, on the instalments that you're talking about two instalments of £45 or three of £30, per set of wagons. That's not a material change, ultimately if finances are tight that's not going to be a deal breaker IMO.

Hi all,

I realise it is tough for those who have lost their jobs, or are designated key workers, and I sympathise with them, but for many of us no eating out, no going to the pub, no commuting is a chance to save up!

Cheers

Ben A.

Hi all,

So currently Freightliner does have a fleet of 128 FWA "Ecofret" wagons with the first been registered into service on the 7th Jan 2013.
In fleet use they are used generally used much like all the other Intermodal wagons mixed in with other designs, however at customer request two services that I know of at least are ran purely using FWA wagons these are a service from Felixstowe to Leeds and the second is the Southampton (1300) - Trafford Park (1940) which stops for crew change in Basford Hall (1747).

Of the Freightliner fleet all but one set is in VTG (not freightliner) green, the odd one was one of the demonstrator wagons which remains VTG Blue and runs in with the mixed rakes, the two complete rakes are all in green working at 30 SLU (Standard Loading Units) or basically 30 twin sets long. Although of course this can vary as wagons are taken out of these rakes for routine maintenance the shortest I have seen of these rakes is 26 SLU in length.

As @red_death points out the wagons used by Freightliner do not carry FL markings, these wagons are leased by the company rather than owned so have VTG markings on. They are however maintained by colleges from the wagon department and registered on the network under Freightliner but this is purely for administrative purposes and is common practice within the industry for long term leased rolling stock.

So there you go @njee20  we do use them and no need to look through my posts  ;)

Just a reminder of the end of the early bird on Sunday night. Opted for a couple of GBRF sets. Was tempted by some DB ones too, but not sure I can compose a full DB container rake, particularly without FKAs. :hmmm:
