NGS take over TPM range of wagons
« on: April 26, 2019, 04:50:41 PM »
Good news for modern(ish) wagon fans from the N Gauge Society Facebook page

Quote
There is some interesting news from the society today, as it has now been announced that the NGS has acquired the range of wagon kits previously of Taylor Precision Models.
The list of wagon kits is as follows:
- Air-braked Steel Carrier (SAA and derivatives)
- Iron Ore Tippler (PTA, later JTA/JUA)
- VCA Van
- VDA Van
- FPA Russell coal container
- Private Owner (POA/PNA)
- Limpet ballast spoil wagon (ZKA)
The Society are aiming to integrate these kits into their already extensive range of wagon kits over the next six months and make them available to members as soon as possible.

Very good news. Now, if you can just follow that up with all the TPM detail kits and then all the ATM kits please. :D

I saw this (and shared on the NGF and N gauge Facebook groups) and agree it’s good news.

It means I may be able to extend my ARC Tippler rake one day. And then one decade a Dapol 59 may arrrive to haul it.

I hope that the NGS will put together some transfer sheets for these kits.

If so could I make a plea that the Limpet comes with data panels for MKA as well as ZKA?

I'll certainly be in for some more VCA, POA and Limpets.

my thoughts entirely, kits with transfer sheets would be really useful!

There are several kits on that list I am very interested in.

Best wishes and congrats NGS

Sorry if I am starting the obvious; Fox Transfers do a complete decal pack for the Tipplers in ARC at least.

I'd agree, and suggest that where decals are readily available from an alternative source the NGS should not go to the expense and trouble of adding decals to the kits. I kinda think Phil ( @ScottishModeller ) might agree too(?). :beers:

Hi all,

You are correct in saying NGS should not be investing money on decals for wagons outside of it's own range of kits.

However, it is possible that it would invest in decals for wagons that have become part of it's range of kits.

I'm not saying that this will be the case, but that it is a possibility.

Given the range and quantity of decals that the society already has, plus the fact that we still need to produce decals for some of the existing kit range, expenditure on 'other' decals is highly unlikely in the future.

Thanks

ps - an unofficial update on the nameplates and decals..

Name/number plates 25000 - decal sets 5000 and still counting/sorting
Thanks
Phil Holman

All my TPM kits were finished using transfers from Fox so there's no real urgency for the NGS to replicate them.
