My issue #2 for 2019 hasn't turned up yet here at the Antipodes, which is unusual - it should be here by now.

Any other Aussie members got theirs yet?

Thanks, Graham. That's what I feared. Ah well.

I'll have to wait for the new editor now! Shame, 'cos there were couple of articles that looked interesting.

Can't you just request a new Journal be posted out to you?
Works in the UK so I can't see Australia being any different - you pay enough in extra postage so it should happen if you ask.

Either that or get someone UK-based (me, frinstance) to request another copy and post it out to you.

Just a thought.

Cheers,

Chris

What a kind offer! I'll try it myself first, though.

Thanks very much, Chris.

I got mine about 2-3 weeks ago George. But I have previously had an issue go missing and they very quickly sent me a replacement after I contacted them.
Still planning a layout...

I got mine in California a couple of days ago (and early enough this time to enter the competition!)

Let me know if you want me to scan the magazine and the newsletter. It won't take too long, and I work from home, so just a background task.

Contacted the NGS, and just had a reply from the membership secretary, Mike Bloomfield.

He's sending another. Very impressive immediate reply.

Thanks, folks!  :beers:

I hope that the Journal continues to be a good read and informative with plenty of submitted content...

As a graphic designer I totally sympathise with the want of the Ed to switch to A4 -I have been designing theatre programmes for local companies for a while and they were nearly all of A5 format, like the Ed I kept suggesting a move to A4 but was stopped by the committee/Chair (mainly) as 'they wouldn't fit on the shelf with the older ones...'

My chance came when we celebrated a 90th Anniversary of shows... suggesting we do a souvenir edition in A4 'to better show off the photos from the past'... that was it once everyone saw an A4 version the decision was made to continue in that format going forwards, more space, larger text (if needed), better photos. - also the other companies soon followed suit seeing the A4 versions.

We didn't have issues of posting out or binders of course and these are all things to consider.

Maybe the answer is in the new Ed producing a 'souvenir edition' of something and selling the A4 format change by people actually seeing what can be achieved... yes it might not be pocket friendly, maybe an electronic version would be a useful companion...

Hopefully the new Ed will have fun and be supported by submissions from the masses, I will happily do something... once I am moved and have a space to build!!! I guess an article on what I have in boxes wouldn't be that interesting yet  :D
