Do we have any point rodding experts in the house?

Several have added point rodding to their layouts but, as I'm in possession of a short memory, the latest one I recall is @rogerdB

I haven't seen a copy myself but the 2mm Association have a book about rodding. http://www.2mm.org.uk/products/nms/index.html and scroll down.

I would think itís less to do with rodding runs per se, but more the question of whether the slip was worked by a ground frame unlocked from the box, or all worked from it direct. Given the location I donít think it would be via hand levers whatever, but my knowledge is limited at best. The point at the end would probably be hand lever, but again not sure. I think lay-by sidings, of which the S&C of course had quite a few, were probably box controlled, but this track layout is slightly different in nature and use I would think.

There is an active S&C area on RMweb, and a question there might elicit the answer, or at least probable Midland practice in such matters.
