NGS - Ex Modelmaster Decals and Nameplates
« on: March 07, 2019, 03:20:11 PM »
Hi all,

If you have checked the NGS website recently you will have seen that the range of Nameplates and Decals produced for the NGS by Modelmaster is now in the possession of the society.

There is a considerable amount of work to be done in checking, sorting, and counting what exactly there is.

As these are with me (living room, railway room, spare room and sitting room) I have set a date by which I hope to have them all sorted and then, at a date after that, for them to be available for sale.

I hope this will be done by 5th April 2019.

The sales process is still to be decided and an announcement will appear after 5th April 2019.

So - have a bit of patience with this and then follow the sales process once it has been established!

Thanks
Phil H

I would guess you have a formidable task on you hands, so kudos to you, it's the good news myself and a lot of the other members have been waiting for,

What Bob said. Thanks in advance for the work ahead Phil.

Hi Bob,

The answer has to be....

As soon as I can manage to.

Nameplates are all sorted, but the decals are taking a bit longer than I expected.

Mind you, considering that they have only been in my possession for 40 days, I don't think I am doing too badly.

Some of the larger decal boxes have between 5 and 7 thousand decal sheets in them, some packaged and some not.

It's the ones that are not packaged that take the time up.

To everyone who wants decals or plates....

Please write up your wish list so that you are ready once the task of sorting and listing them is completed.

I started one of these large boxes on Saturday and I'm still working on it. The majority of decals in it are loose and not in any particular order.

An announcement will be made once I have done everything and reported back to the powers that be.

Then they can make a decision about how they want them sold as that is not my decision to make, although I do have some ideas and preferances!

Thanks
Phil H

Thanks for the thought!

If only you could hear what my Mrs has to say on the subject!

I get on faster if I take a box out to the shed to do - and I don't get my ears full of her comments!

I still get the burning ear sensation though......

Thanks

Does that come with swelling?  If so, duck faster!

No ducks have been harmed during the process of sorting the decals and nameplates.......

The air did get a bit blue earlier when I dropped a freshly sorted box of decals and will have to re do them.

Thanks

Oof! I feel your pain. I once dropped a 'trade' case containing 5,000 screws of various sizes. I could've cried.

Once the huge task of sorting them is completed it will be interesting to see how they are sold and at what price.
I would guess several members became frustrated at the decal and NGS kit situation that unfortunatly unfolded, and failed to renew their membership. Their availability through the society may just attract some to re-join.
