I would say needs to be white with maybe just a tinge of blue, so White and Blue LED together?

Here is TrainsDownunder's prototype just after I built it. As you can see, it's built on a small piece of Veroboard. There is a blue led and a white led connected in parallel.

Quite effective, I reckon!
