:helpneededsign: What is the formica like hard material used in many appliances, (normally brown),  to either shield electrical contacts or to prevent arcing.  Can it be bought in the UK ?

The exact same answer I was typing. :beers:
“We are indebted to those soldiers who served with courage and distinction to bring peace to Northern Ireland,” UK Defence Secretary Gavin Williamson said. “The welfare of our former service personnel is of the utmost importance.”

It’s not a shielding material, just a very good insulator.
I'm not sure if life is passing me by, or trying to run me over.

Thanks SteveWalker, RailGooner and Malc  Personally I'd never heard of it.  Will now search for a supplier of small quantity.

Tufnol is a more common phenolic board these days (Paxolin had a tendency to de-laminate), both are varieties of SRBP.

You can find it on ebay and because that is a Trademark, you can find 'tufnol substitute' in the same place.
