Interactive Coal Mine
« on: January 12, 2019, 01:04:18 PM »
Hey guys,

So much knowledge here, I'd be wrong to not ask questions.

Anyway, I was thinking about having an interactive Coal Mine on my layout. One where I could hit a switch, or something, and the coal comes out a chute and into the wagon. Is there any kit that would lend itself to this idea or will I need to go this alone?

Cheers,

Cameron

My local model railway club (I'm not a member) have an ore mine which dispenses ore into wagons via a chute. It can be seen here - far right in first photo.........

Iíve seen one in a larger scale where ore is tipped from a wagon into a chute that drops it into a lorry on a lower level. Then that drives around to the upper level where it drops into the wagons.
I'm not sure if life is passing me by, or trying to run me over.

I've seen a coal/ore loading screen that was up against the backscene, with a strategically placed hole in said backscene allowing the operator to tip a spoon of coal/ore into each wagon as the train slowly pulled through the loading screen. The illusion worked a treat viewed from the front.
