This is bringing back great memories of me trainspotting at SR London termini and of Clapham Junction around 1965/66. Thank you. :)

A bit more masking and the roofs will be sprayed.  Once the paint has cured I can then start to add the detail of handles electrical cables, etc.

Yes 1965 is about spot on as the paint scheme i'm using will fit between the formation of the Tadpoles, as reformed Hasting sets, and the  later addition of black triangles on the yellow warning plates.

I think you've made too many. I could always give one a good home on Southwark Bridge   :pleasesign:

Some are earmarked for my club members and we need a fleet for the layout to run it at shows so they need to stay in the club.  Sorry. :)

@nick_bastable

Nick you asked me about the availability of the bogie sides.

The bogie sides are in pairs with one left and one right orientation.

There are five types four of which are used for the Tadpoles and two of which are used for the 2BILs.  The photo shows the arrangement.

You will see that I have mixed the bogies and chassis of the Tomix chassis to give the correct bogie spacing and wheel spacing.

I can put them up for buying from Shapeways, however, with Shapeways current pricing they are not cheap.  I bought mine early last year when the price of small items was much less.

Its showing me as the creator prices of cú6 for the pairs of plain sides and cú16 for the pairs of sides with the electrical pickups but I'm not sure if that's the old or more likely the new pricing.  If they were Shapeways shop listed they would have higher prices including the Shapeways markup.

On the layout following a good first run of the layout last night (a loco did a complete circuit without coming off :D) I have started to set up the plates that will have the scenery built on, in a modular format, by members at home or offline from the layout.  Each one is laser cut in ply and will have foam or foam board added to give the land profile.

Each module can have its buildings added and landscaped, with a mind to blending the edges to the next plates.  You will see the carcass of a building on plate 1.

Spent last night figuring out the contours of the South East town section.

The foam is glued to 6mm ply plates and each one will be cut, sanded and skinned with PVA and tissue.  The buildings will be designed with basement sections that will be cut into the foam and be glued to the base plates.  The foam depths are marked in mm and are based on OS maps photos and the need to have a return loop on the far right, which fortunately is the top of the hill.

Well the profile has been cut and i look like a snowman  :)

I need to give it a contour sand then paint it with PVA to seal in the powder.  I can then add a skin of tissue paper to give it a hard crust.
