Looking good.
On the web page it has:
"Delayed due to decision to manufacture some parts as 3D printed to simplify** construction to offer the cranes etc as Read to Run.
. Estimated availability now Nov 2018."

Does that mean it has been delayed until after Nov 2018 or until Nov 2018?  I suspect the former.

I think that has been on there for some time now and meant the latter; until Nov 2018.  But that deadline is fast approaching...

Although obviously only a pre production sample the picture looks like it's been carved from balsa wood!

Im currently hacking the Gem Fleetline crane about to try to make it more prototypical which is a mission but their decision to make it RTR they claim 3d printing has eliminated 135 parts. All well and good but the sample pic doesn't appear to be any more detailed then the GEM white metal and presumably instead of a lump of metal with mouldings this will be a lump of plastic.

I really want a fully detailed R R crane for our layout which 3d printing should allow but as yet it seems no better then what was available for 3 times the money.

I will get mine in primer this weekend and she can be revealed to the forum for judgement.

that picture is all laser cut wood parts, we were going to do this as kit to go with the rest of our wagon range but there were just too many parts, here are some pictures of the 3d printed test parts, excuse the blurry camera.

This can be easily pulled by a pannier tank

Looking good MKP i can't wait to see her in full 3d print in primer. Is there any chance that the earlier spec weight relieving bogies could be an option at all???

Just phoned Osborns and spoke to thew chap producing the crane and it is soon to be ready.  Just finalising a few points. The BR (black) decal sheet is ready too.  I've modeled the rest of the train as it appeared in 1959.  Just need the crane now!

Do you have any pics of how the breakdown train would have looked please?

Maurice, that is looking great. It will will look  superb running on Vale of Oxbury so hope I will be able to order one soon.
I may just have to let go the old Fleetline /GEM  kit  you built for me all those years ago that still looks great but would never run smoothly.

Looking great and running suberbly by the looks of it.  I can't imagine ever having Rad 1 curves on my layout though.   Can't wait for the first ones to become avaialble.  Mines going to depict DS1580 in photos above. I have the rest of the train ready - just missing the R&R.
