Pennine Wagons have two new Limited Edition releases -

"we have commissioned two new limited edition N-Gauge wagons from Peco, which we now have in stock. These are a 21-ton brake van in the livery of the Manchester Ship Canal Railway and a 7-plank pitched-roof salt wagon in the livery of Murgatroyd Mid-Cheshire Salt Works of Middlewich. So far as we are aware the MSC brake is the first limited-edition brake van to be produced in British N-Gauge. The wagons are on sale individually or as a pair, and are now available from our website

www.penninewagons.co.uk"

Thanks, Dannyboy. We hope you like your new wagons.

This just through from Derails Models

“We've now received the stock of the next in our line-up of exclusive N gauge Forest-Of-We've now received the stock of the next in our line-up of exclusive N gauge Forest-Of-Dean themed wagons - the Eastern United and Parkend 7 Plank Coal wagons.
The Eastern United Colliery near Cinderford was one of the Henry Crawshaw Collieries. Work began in 1909 and it was one of the last Forest Collieries, operating right through to 1960. Wagon 354 was delivered by Gloucester Carraige and Wagon works in 1914 and was part of a batch of 20 wagons, delivered from new in the livery depicted in our model.

The Parkend Colliery was opened in early 1800's and was one of the deep navigation collieries in the Forest of Dean. It closed in 1929, at which point New Fancy Colliery took over bringing coal from the Parkend area to the surface. Wagon no. 380 was one of the last wagons built for the colliery in 1899.

These are the fifth and sixth wagon in our range of exclusive limited editions, we have another 6 (yes 6!) lined up for release over the next 18 months!”

Excellent news!

Cheers, Chris!
A container sounds like a bit of a novelty for a commission!
Do AGR have an online shop?

One thing I would like to point out when ordering from 'AGR' - pay in £St if not in the UK, or, preferably, request an invoice! I placed an order the other day and, as my Debit Card is in Euros, I used the Euro option on the website. There had been a few emails between Anthony at 'AGR' and myself before I placed the order and he comes across as a nice helpful bloke, but shortly after placing the order, I received an email stating that the order was cancelled, as I had not paid enough!  :confused1:. I am not blaming 'AGR' as such, I think it comes down to how 'PayPal' collect and forward the money - once they had my Euros, I am guessing that they took their cut, converted the remainder to £St and forwarded the remainder to 'AGR' - obviously not enough. I have now paid in £St and used a UK address. One thing to beware of.  :hmmm:

I see that www.wagonyard.co.uk has received their latest commissions from Dapol and Peco. One, Bonner and Mason Toogood is unusual as has 2 owners, The latter a cigarette manufacturer of Guildford. Some complex lettering too. The Peco  one for James Smart of Chalford is quite colourful. Further wagons are planned. Dapol ones are in N and OO. Details of prototypes are in Turton's books -7/8/12 and Ian Pope's Voume2.

Two more specials from the wagon yard are out. Peco van in the complex Gasson livery and coal wagon of Victoria Coal. These are based on photos from Turton's books.

Hi Folks,

Visited the Swange Railway last week and came across the PECO van below (excuse the quality of the image):

The model number is NR-P1007.  Be warned though, it is rather expensive at £14.95.  I could not see these for sale on the Swanage Railway website but they had plenty in the Swanage station shop.

Hope this helps.

Like Chas, I too would like one of these wagons. So if anybody is likely to be passing/visiting ................. I will also send a payment by PayPal to include postage and a bit for your trouble. If you would rather, I can provide a UK address.
