I could have simply laid the new plaster over the unwanted road surfaces I'm covering - BUT - I know that plaster doesn't stick well to flat surfaces.

So I've carefully dug out trenches along the road sides, then glued in dry plaster cloth with PVA (this was a suggestion from Nick a long time back). Now it's dried overnight I'm filling in plaster over the top. Will try to get the ground/turf to blend as well as possible so you can't see the surgery!

Interesting to see these Nightjet carriages turning up on Instagram etc. with SBB branding on! Could it be that SBB are rekindling love for night trains? :hmmm:

Yes Matt. In a recent survey the Swiss said that they would like to see the return of night trains and SBB appears to be taking the request seriously. I believe that OBB would like to obtain some new coaches for their Nightjet services so perhaps they might go into partnership with SBB and share the cost.

That's fantastic! I wonder if they will come up with new liveries?

By the way, I've just realised, on my trip to Austria there will be model train shops! I had better start working some overtime hours!!!! :D

Finally able to add the ground foam to start hiding the road modification. It's been quite a lengthy procedure making this ammendment overall!

Righty-ho. Repairs completed, pleased with outcome so thanks for input all!

A minor issue, there is a bit of a ridge line visible in the turf. I will actually be running some form of fence along it, so it's no biggy. Also I can dot some bushes there to hide it more.

On another note, I would like to put something in between the bistro and station building (where the '?' is in the photo). Not too sure what though :hmmm:. It needs to break up the grey space but not dominate over the buildlings either side.

The station building already has an integrated Kiosk. I was thinking along the lines of either a 1960s modern art sculpture, a bike stand, a small green space with tree, or a garden. Any other ideas welcome!
