 :welcomesign: parafuso.

There are quite a few of us that started out with OO and then changed to N, myself included and I have not regretted it. There is quite a bit of stuff on choosing N sets (including my first ever post to the NGF where the advice of others got me to change course - and I'm very glad I did too!)

If you are looking for sets then we do have a Kato M1 set (has no trains though but a very robust track system) and a HN1004 Arnold Industrial Service Train Set in our Christmas Raffle. Details on the link below:

Hi parafuso and welcome aboard
I think your first decision has to be DCC or DC and then look at the starter sets available.
Then the fun begins................

Hi all. Just thought I would Introduce myself.
I am a musician living in Southampton and have just started my dream of building an N layout.
At current I only have 3 locos and some rolling stock but I'm building scenery and houses etc until I decide how I want my layout, so the dining table is my running top for the moment :)
Anyway nice to meet you all and I look forward to sharing pictures and thoughts with you ;)
Kindest regards
Paul

Hi Paul  :welcomesign:

The table top is quite a popular layout format, I use it myself  ;)

Are you running UK stock or something else?

We have a great membership here who will answer any question you ask

cheers John.

I've lived in Swaythling and Shirley. Saints fan too! There are some good model railway exhibitions at Eastleigh - I think there might be one soon.

Here are the exhibitions in Southampton and Eastleigh, Paul. I've been to the SMRS one - it gets packed and the car park fills up quickly so it is parking on the road.

I've not been to the Eurotrack before but may well go to this one (as I like modern image and also continental now). I see from the list of exhibitors that Banbury is being exhibited (which is an legendary modern image layout that I've only seen pictures of)

These exhibitions are well worth going to for inspiration and also for bargains.
