Hello all,

Revolution has received EP1 samples of two of the three IPA car carriers under development.

The two received are the flat twin, and the flat twin with side stakes. The models have metal decks for weight and despite being fairly plain they have lots of separately fitted underframe detail and etched metal or wire handrails, footsteps and tread plates.

Although there aren't that many modern cars available in N (as bemoaned earlier in this thread) these wagons are used often used for carrying light commercial vehicles for which the Oxford DIecast Transit vans are ideal:

We are still waiting for samples of the covered versions; these are taking a little longer to tool up as the toolmakers want to get the right effect for the stretched canvas sides.

If you'd like to see more photos there are some on the news page of the Revolution website.

Thanks to all who have ordered to enable these models to progress.

Cheers

Ben A.

Awesome, looks another stunning model, well done! That feels quick for EPs? What’s the anticipated delivery timeline?

Hi Nick,

Thanks.  They look pretty good at first glance, though I need to give them a thorough check.

In terms of schedules, Mike and I have learned not to be too definitive in predictions, We have said on our website that if *if* the EP samples don't need any tweaking (and we are yet to see the covered versions) and if the deco samples are right first time then we may get them done before Chinese New Year.

Cheers

Ben A.

Not even close to my era/interest, but another fine looking product, even I can't wait to see the E.P. of the covered version.

Top work.

Sounds like the old “Silcock Express” cartic sets? Must have been more like 30 years ago with an 85, sure they were before my time ;)

Hello all,

We have just received decorated samples of the IPA car carriers.  They look great on first inspection, though obviously we need to give them a good going over comparing to the livery drawings sent out.  We are offering them in flat twin, flat twin with stakes and covered twin and quad versions.

All types are available to order in both original livery (early 1990s-mid 2010s)

...and current red livery (mid 2000s to present day)

For more information and to order at the earlybird price see our website.

They'll be on display at the International N Gauge show at Leamington next month.

cheers

Ben A.

I don’t even remember seeeing the unpainted samples of the covered ones!

We got EP1 samples of the flats and flats with stakes, but not the covered ones because the factory wanted to improve the stretching effect of the canvas sides.

Since the chassis are pretty much identical it seemed sensible, once they were happy with the canvas sides, to jump straight to the deco samples.

Cheers
