Caley Dave's Workbench
« on: July 13, 2018, 10:56:08 PM »
I though I would share pictures from some of the projects I have got on the go.

In the beginning I decided I would only run Passenger Trains and then bought a freight train before any passenger trains. Then I decided I would only model bang up-to-date contemporary modern image after which I bought a 1980's ScotRail class 47 which in turn led to me deciding I wanted to buy or make an example of every ScotRail locomotive... oh dear

Modifications and Repaints

3 coaches Primed and ready.

From Right to left we have:
  • MK1 Saloon 45020 in ScotRail Express (1980). Rule 1 but fancied a challenge
  • The basis of A Scotrail Power Door Standard class HST coach. This is an experiment, If it works I will convert another 3 to give me a complete ScotRail HST, else it will be come parts for the rest of the mk3 Fleet.
  • MK1 Super BG 94538 in EWS as used on the Southampton Boat trains between 2010-12.

Further Progress has been made to the mk1's with the Super BG having been painted and awaiting transfers and more detailing been added to the Saloon.

This is just run of the mill removing old and adding new transfers.

Class 37 427 Highland Enterprise

When I realised you could get the nameplates and transfers I had to have one!

Backdating My ScotRail 47

I have since managed to get a set of matching MK3's for a PushPull Rake so I any now awaiting the new DBSO like everyone else!

And whilst we are on the subject of PushPull's this is perhaps not what most people think...

This DVT + 4 coach Train ran between North Berwick and Edinburgh (& Glasgow via Carstairs in the Peaks) hauled by hired in EWS Class 90's. The Class 90 will need to be a future Project...

Hope you liked them.

Hi Dave,

An interesting mix of projects on the go there.

The ScotRail Mk3 North Berwick set is a quick win and easily achievable.
The HA castle on the 47/7 is subtle.
Doing a ScotRail inspection saloon myself....waiting on decals.
I have just obtained a RR 37 to convert to 427....great minds etc.

Like you...waiting on DBSOs.

Interested in the power door Mk3 conversion.....definitely an option for future modelling.

Good luck and keep us all posted.

A selection of my pictures, real & model ARE NOW to be found at...

I always find things in the last place I look. weird huh??
