Transfers (i.e. what it is big enough to see)

NB The shade of blue is correct, I lifted it from the Balfour Beatty website.  The photo is a low res screen capture and the artwork is very sharp.

One of each variant the front is as built and as rebuilt behind.

The sharp eyed will notice this print is slightly shorter ~1.5mm as it was printed on a different technology (Not Shapeways) that gives a nice finish but is dimentionally less accurate.

This is the Shapeways print that works for both variants, by removing the small platforms at the ends next to the water tanks.

The KFA wagon is also a 3D Shapeways print.

Now to surface seal and paint.

After a bit of surface prep and a final coat of white they are ready for painting.

I went and got some paint mixed today.  Balfour Beatty blue is Pantone 301c so it was easy to get it mixed.

Time to let the paint harden and then find a very quiet day to do some very careful painting as masking is not going to be possible due to the intricacies of the design.

All I need now are the Revolution KFAs  :D

At some point I will weather with concrete spillage.

The next stage is to build a couple of MPVs to top and tail it.

I'm using a kit I picked up from Japan which includes motorisation and two single ended platform MPVs with Japanese cabs.  I will replace the cabs with a UK/European type and the rest of the models are fine, especially when they will be painted to match.

These are what it runs with normally, and when not part of a larger engineering train. This design is impractical to make and motorise as there is nowhere to put the motors or gearbox, so bogie versions will work fine painted and designed with cabs to match.

A quick thank you to @RussellH for the spare MPV cabs from the 3DR MPV kits.  They fit the bill perfectly and give them a British look.
