I have a quick question about the Farish Class 108/101; is the centre car identical for both models or are they significantly different?
They are different - take a look at prototype info here https://www.railcar.co.uk/
If you are modelling era is towards the end of the life of the classic DMU quite often types got mixed up within sets. Take a browse here http://www.hondawanderer.com/

I never realised there's two different versions, at least, of the Centre Vehicle. I think I'll have to have a look at the 101 centre vehicle I've got.

Thanks all for your responses on this. I'm kicking myself as I bought a 2-car 108 when they first came out when what i really wanted was a 3-car 108 and a 2-car 101!

I think there are a few who feel the same. I bought a green 2 car 108 and 101. Later I kicked myself for not buying the 3 car versions. I have since managed to get a 3 car 108, second hand but not a similar 101 set.

I would certainly buy a 3 car 101 if they were available new.

Did GraFar or BachFar ever do a 3 car 101 set?

I'd be interested in a China tooling 3 car set , or even better would be a separate Trailer Composite with Lav (TCL)

Cheers
Dave

3-car 101s? of course they did.

371-510 Rail blue
371-511 Blue-Grey
371-512 Green

All released 2011 when they were 89 for the 3-car at the box shifters.
I found a 3-car green on EBay last year and had to pay 120 for it, which was the original RRP, but it was mint. And in all honesty, good value compared with current prices.

I struck lucky in that having bought a green 3 car class 108 (371-886) a forum member then sold me a spare centre car unit so I can make up a 4 car set. Sorry!
