Hi Chris,

The Blue/Grey Mark 2A's are just out of the box Bachmann/Farish one's. The only thing i've added to them is the 'Inter-City' logo's as that's how I remember them (or NSE branding in some cases)

My Mark 2D/F air con rakes are out of the box Farish (Blue/Grey) & InterCity livery one's are Electra Railway graphic overlays. I do however (When they eventually arrive in the shops) Have the new tooling Mark 2f's on order. I've been saving bit by bit, sold off a rake of Dapol Mark 3's & also my old farish one's will be sold to part fund the eye watering price of these new coaches :o. But once I've got them, I've got them!!

Thanks also to everyone for the great comments  :thankyousign: Trully humbled  :beers:

No pictures coming today as I'm off to Liverpool on the train for a few beers ha  ;)!

Cheers for now,
Mark

Hi everyone,

Well despite the really crap weather, I went to Birmingham monday, but detoured via the station that has inspired Shrewford & that is Shrewsbury!

The station is undergoing restoration of the canopies & the dana footbridge that spans the station.

I took some pictures, will be great to see this once it's been completed!

First up is the mighty Severn Bridge Signalbox

This was my train from Crewe seen departing, the 2 car Class 175 was absolutely heaving & was going all the way to Tenby

Looking back at the station showing a 4 car Class 170 at Platform 5, these are the current traction for the local services to the West Midlands (Operated by West Midlands Railway) & there are now 2 departures an hour plus the once an hour Transport for Wales services.

The south end of Platform 4 looking across to what was the south end of Platform 3, this end of the platform has been lifted, so Platform 3 is now much shortened. It is also the area where bay Platforms 1 & 2 stood.

Now looking north along Platform 4. The 1960's 'Butterfly' canopy like the one's on Platforms 4a, 5 6 & 7a that spanned the south end of Platform 3 was demolished around 1998. All the north end of the station canopy on the main island Platforms is under scaffolding

The view from Platform 4 looking at Platform 3

& looking north towards Chester & Crewe

Finally these next 3 pictures show an arrival with some 80's traction tagged to the back of a 170, a 153! (tho would have been a part of a 155 back in the day) This arrived at Platform 6 from New Street...also seen at Platform 7 is the 1528 Virgin Voyager to London which I left on  to Birmingham

Cheers for now,
Mark

Hi Everyone,

Another running session, no modelling on the layout as it's been too warm & I've had a fair bit to do in the garden on my days off.

This series of pictures depicts another busy summer saturday 1987 style & another of the extra 3 cambrian loco hauled services, 'The Snowdonian'...

47403 swings past the Football ground approaching Shrewford with the 1055 'The Snowdonian' to Pwllheli, Ex London Euston. This loco was attached at Wolves..

Seen in the centre road as the train approaches Platform 4 are 37254 & 37429 which will attach to the other end (The train reverses here)

The back of the train (Which will shortly become the front) is clattering over the points

47403 is quickly detached at the North end of the station as 47535 makes an appearance on the approach to Platform 7 with the 1043 to Cardiff central (ex Liverpool)

The 2 37's are then attached to 'The Snowdonian' ready for the journey to the Cambrian Coast

The 1043 to Cardiff then gets the road & is on the move from Platform 7, this train is a few minutes late

Once the Cardiff has cleared, the Snowdonian gets the road & growls out of Platform 4

A 2 car Class 101 is seen at platform 6 which having arrived from Swansea earlier, is now on an empty stock working to the holding sidings to be cleaned & watered, ready to form the 1300 back down to Swansea later...

And finally a 2 car DMU waits at Platform 3 on the 1112 to Chester

Cheers for now,
Mark

Hi Everyone,

I have got round to constructing my signals. These are completely none working. I purchased CR signals for the heads & framework & really pleased with how they look...maybe one day I'll have the bottle to create working signals ha!

Here are some pictures of the signals & also my scratch built signal gantry for the north end of the station...

The signals controlling moves from the south end of Platforms 6 & 7, all are fitted with a fake route indicator

The gantry controlling moves from the north end of the station, platforms 3 & 4, & also the single signal controlling moves north bound out of Platform 7

Framed by the gantry is a Class 31 on a parcels service bound for Manchester

Just enjoying your signals and gantry again! They do look good. I noted you bought the signal heads from CR signals as kits and assembled. Are they working ones with LEDs or did you imply not working?  How did you make the gantry?
