Three sided football grounds are not common. When I lived/worked in Northampton the Cobblers ground was 3 sided with temporary 'terraces' erected to separate it from the cricket ground.

Great work on the football stadium, the groundsmen are doing a fine job with its condition :)

Just caught up with your thread from the beginning (as several have done I think) and the photo's and details are stunning, top job

Cheers,
Andrew

Not sure how I have missed this thread  ???. But, like others, I have now caught up and have to say that there is some excellent modelling and imagination there.
David.
I used to be indecisive - now I'm not - I don't think.

Hi Newportnobby, I've studied the original Gay meadow football ground pictures & there is a very low level stand at the one end, which I'll incorporate into my version at the other end which presently has nothing there. The reason I hadn't done all 4 sides is space restraints, but there might just be room for a low level stand. I've barriered the pitch around now, so once I've done that, I'll post some more pictures.

Hi Everyone,

Just a couple of pics I posted to the facebook group from thursday's running session I thought I'd post here too.
I should be completing the football ground but sometimes playing trains is too hard to resist  But hey ho! lol!

47535 'University Of  Leicester' has bought in the empty stock into Platform 7 to form the 1721 InterCity to London Euston

In bay Platform 6 can be seen a brand new Sprinter Class 150/2 on the 1705 stopper to Newport (Gwent) While behind it a Class 150/1 is on the 1725 all stops to Wolverhampton which follow after the InterCity.

& Finally A Class 33 has arrived at Platform 4 with the 1719 Provincial Express to Manchester Piccadilly (Ex Cardiff)

Hopefully next time I post I'll have completed the football ground! lol!

Cheers for now,
Mark

Hi Everyone,

Over the last week or so I've managed to get the platforms constructed. I've always used the metcalf one's as they're solid once done, tho this pack I've not been too impressed with the adesive flagstone platform edging which has been lifting since it's been added on, so will have to glue it down in places.

Mark,
Which Metcalfe platform kit are you using, is it the PN110 (red brick) or PN135 (stone)? What are the widths of your platform runs serving platform 6 and 7 and the one serving 4 and 5?

Also, where did you obtain the station lights from? Are yours operational?

Thank you, Robin
