Elvenhome
« on: March 18, 2018, 08:19:46 AM »
I previously posted about my layout under N Gauge Videos, ( bhttp://www.ngaugeforum.co.uk/SMFN/index.php?topic=38036.msg497902#new ) with a somewhat unpreposing title.  With the encouragment of Box Tunnel (for which thank you) I thought it would be better to start a thread under the name of the layout.  At my wife’s suggestion I have been documenting the build on YouTube. (http://www.youtube.com/c/StephenHumphreys). I have been building it for nearly two years, but it has come on apace since I decided to retire from full time work last July.  In the last week I had a first attempt at making trees from Seafoam and completing the graveyard for my church, St Eldar. Pleased with the outcome and encouraged to complet the scenic work on this section.

Bet you're 'dead' pleased with that corner scene
If it looks right, it probably is right.

Looks great.  I'll look up your earlier posts and look forward to seeing your videos.  Thank you for the link.

Best wishes.

The Table-Top Railway is a train set trying and failing to be a model railway.

I believe that train sets and model railways are fun.

There's certainly a bit of space between the stones there, but it looks great! Love the lighting, by the way.

Plenty of room there for a cameo video crew to make a music video  ;D ;)

There is and I might try to add some more gravestones at some point.  After making 70 odd of those gravestones to go with the 18 I had from a kit my fingers were sore!

I split into two separate videos the design and making in card of a vicarage for the church.  I made this video in response to comments saying how some people were worried about scratch building.  I do not claim to be good at it, but having had a go I wanted to show others how you might go about it.  Both videos are now available

That looks really good.
As far as I can see , you’ve made no grave errors in the construction  :D
If it looks right then it most probably is right.

At last got around to buying a spy pen to allow me to make a track cam  In this video I show my first goes with using it and how I have fixed it to a Peco 15ft bolster wagon

Fascinating. The shots I like best are when the camera train is being overtaken by another train such as the teaks very early in the clip and the freight train near the end.
