I had a good time at Ally Pally, met some friends that I hadn't seen for years and of course had my mug shot taken with the usual suspects

note that Bob Tidbury is awake and my camera is still in full working order!

As others have commented the spaces were even more noticeable this year but I enjoyed myself anyway having taken advantage of the Dapol sales, getting myself another Grange and LT pannier.

The Bachmann stand seems to have become a clubhouse for the collector's club members with no clear enquiry point, so I asked the gatekeeper about the lack of an N gauge RU restraunt car in chocolate and cream, as it is the only livery they have not so far re released. he said that he would ask about this at the next meeting on coaching stock.
I saw the Hawksworths in maroon (can barely wait for them) and the EP for the birdcage set (I want, I want!!)
Also noticeable by it's absence was the Langley models stand - I wander what happened to them?

Regards,

Alex

A few reprobates' faces ring a bell there, and as for the guy second from left, I can only assume the police were unaware he was there ;D

Nice to chat to you earlier today @Bob Tidbury. I'm a bit of a lurker on these forums so it's good to put a face to a name.

Due to the changing enviroment of the model railway hobby, gone are the days of a large show have a third or less layout to trade ratio.  I enjoyed the show from a personal level and having talked to the MRC, numbers were up.  So they have to be doing something right!

I've put my first batch of photos onto the ESNG blog.

https://esngblog.com/

Two more sets of photos to follow later in the week.  And very much my own preferences, not just 'N' gauge.  Enjoy!

Jon

Thank you so much!

How awesome to see Denny's Leighton Buzzard! I grew up with his articles and it's fantastic that it is making appearances!

My Castle Eden terminus on my layout is a reverse mirror image of his plan. He was definitely my hero.

If I'd known that was going to be there, I'd have given serious consideration to jumping on a plane to Ally Pally!

Again, thanks for the pics!!   :beers:

It was great to meet up and join in the photo. Iím the one with the beard. As I said I tend to lurk. Iíve learned so much from this forum over the last couple of years I donít have time or the experience yet to contribute. It would be nice if someone could add names to the faces, my memory is not that good.

Sorry myself, @Mirrlees & @free debt man didn't make the meetup, we were all a tad busy on the NGS Stand.

A few of the reprobates people in the photo did wend their way over to us and let @Mirrlees remove some cash from their wallets. Oh and also have a natter with me about the Crane, with all the usual excuses coming from me about Transfers, final tweaks etc. I promise that I will speak to the powers that be regarding release dates etc.

Hopefully see a lot of you at Bristol, where I'll again be able to roll out more excuses for the Crane  ;) ;) ;) I'll try and learn some new ones  :D :D :D

Cheers

Neal.
