Evening one and all,

This is just some info that popped up today, it'll probably be more relevant for UK bods, but who knows.

Date for your diaries:

Cardinals vs Cubs

June 13th & 14th 2020

LONDON !!!

They're obviously anticipating a good series at the end of the month.

Have a good weekend everyone.

Hi everyone,

Busy evening/night yesterday. A double header for the RedSox, win one, lose one which wasn't too bad I suppose.

Way to go Orioles, good job against the Astro's, the RedSox really struggle against them, looks like they found a way to deal with them.

Sorry about the Giants Weave, looks like it was a bit of a rough night.

All-Star break is looming large, then the season gets serious!

Hi emjaybee,

Couldn't sleep so was listening to music and had it on the virtual reality thing. Rodriguez (I think) with bases loaded, no outs, in the 8th, pitched 8 balls out of 9 pitches to make it 5-2 Dodgers. They then changed the pitcher.... ball, ball, double (7-2). I thought 'Company Jones' (as they say in Spain) to this and changed to watch some nice SNCF steam footage on youtube.

On again early evening (UK) so you never know and at least we won the first game.

I just hope we aren't too far behind to even think about getting serious.

Keeping the faith (just).

Cheers weave  :beers:

Morning everyone,

I've just sat through the highlights of the RedSox/Orioles game, Orioles are having a tough time.

Giants are having a bit of a nice run Weave, you MUST have a cheered up a bit by now, surely?

I noticed that a Yankees jersey that was once worn by Babe Ruth fetched $5.4million this week. I know he was a legend, but yikes!

All-star break is galloping up on us, then it's going to get serious. London Series before that though, that should be interesting.

Wow 6-6 at the end of the 1st inning in London and both starting pitchers ousted!

Seems like we are heading for a 30-30 score at the end of 9 and a walk off winner in the 22nd inning!

Hi Chetcombe,

They did say on the radio here (UK) yesterday that the stadium was too small and that big hitters would have a field day.

Cheers weave  :beers:

I'm starting to panic about tomorrow's game.

It starts at 3pm and I've only got the parking booked until 8pm! Working on current progress I should've booked it 'til at least 10pm.

It's great for first time viewers, but it's hardly a typical game so far.

Maybe cricket fans can stay with this game, but while I'm still watching (top of the 5th) I don't expect to be here for the bottom of the 9th - even in the unlikely event that the Sox close a nine-run gap.

I can't imagine a significant number of British ever supporting this sport. I grew up with it, so it's part of my culture, but I can't take more than a few games a year and I'm watching this one only because it's being played in London! Now NFL football is a different story. I DO think it could become a staple of the British sporting scene, alternating with "real" football.

That must be why they have that really tall wall in centre field. Fun stuff to watch though!

They seem to have made a better job making a hard decent baseball park out of a football stadium than I ever saw stateside. The old Phillies / Eagles stadium was a cavernous hell hole!

It's also interesting that the Yankees are wearing their home uniforms even though technically a home game for the Red Sox.

I think they're going for 'typical baseball' rather than absolute accuracy in stuff like that. I half wondered if they'd try to at least replicate Fenway a little as it's a home game. I think even the Ump's are struggling a bit, the strike zone seems a bit elastic for both teams.

I kinda guessed it was going to be eventful.

As an Oriole fan I feel I might be hallucinating today.  :laugh3:

It's quite some weekend. Two shut-outs in a row!

That's rarer than hens teeth.
