Steam on 35mm, By Video 125

DVD Review: There are 2 DVDs in this series - firstly 'The 30s,40s,50s and 60s' (ref AD354) and 'Vol 3 and 4' (ref AD358). The bulk of both is B & W and is mainly footage taken to appear in feature films, but what I really like about these is that, having been filmed by professional cine makers, the footage is extremely clear and carries excellent sound quality. Also, being professional units, they obviously had access to areas no amateur would and some of the camera angles are very impressive. As they were not necessarily railway fans the full trains were filmed so some wonderful rolling stock is on display, as opposed to concentration being on numbers/names of the locos and little else. Each DVD is 2 hours in length and I enjoyed every minute. If you indulge in one or both, ensure when the first film is finished you access the menu and play the second film as it does not happen automatically
