I am using a CMX rather than a Tomix, but it takes a fair bit to push it up the incline. I just use a pair of 08s together.

While I am building, I am using dc for testing and the two 08s are naturally speed matched. With DCC you have the option of running any pair of locos together and matching their running speeds.

Its    better   to    push   it     rather   than    pull   it   as    it     will    clean   the   track    before   the    locomotive

I pull mine happily with a Dapol Class 56, as it doesnít otherwise have a place on my layout (wrong era). However, as a cleaner itís about as much use as a chocolate teapot, though good at vacuuming.
I use a CMX for cleaning, which is much heavier and more frictive ( new word?) , but the 56 pulls that too, just!
