A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all. Preparations are well under way, we've had to obtain a floor covering for the hall, and hire in tables. Looking forward to having everything in one hall, which hasn't happened to us since we left Messrs Ferodo dining hall about 20 years ago! I think we've got 18 layouts and all our traders are coming. See you there. The Leisure Centre is on the same site as the school, we have the same car parks, and the management hope to persuade the sports interests to have  away matches that weekend to leave all the parking for our visitors.

Now that would be a welcome improvement so I wish you success.

Only a week to go, most of our arrangements have worked, it will be all right on the night! Providing the weather doesn't make a mess of things we look forward to seeing friends old and new.  Alastair.

@Lyttoncpr
How did the 'away' match parking negotiations go please?
It'll probably be Sunday when I come over.

Glorious sunny cold winter's day, so exhibits should get into the hall dry. The floor has to be covered and we get access at 3-30 so it could be a long day. Luckily the Leisure Centre is open until 10. Hope to see you there.   Alastair.

Hope all goes well, Alastair.
Sadly I've ruled myself out with manflu, which I hope to recover from before the Preston show next weekend :(

We had an enjoyable day yesterday, no major problems reported. Very sunny this morning, cold wind but no road problems. Visitors seemed happy, as did the traders! Look forward to seeing you all.   Alastair.

Glad the weather didn't cause us problems this year, sorry for Preston and any others who may suffer from the snow. Our move to the Leisure Centre had the odd problem but nothing we couldn't deal with. We had some adverse comments, but as we pointed out we were not given any choice by the school management, it was either move dates or move venue. Date change would not suit our traders and we wanted to keep the same weekend as for the last 40 odd years, so we went next door. The school was having a 15 year refurbishment with a big job on our weekend and the caterers wouldn't serve us as it was the end of half-term so they didn't have staff in to prepare. We were glad that the attendance kept up, and the positive comments far outweighed the negative. Hope to see you again next year on the last full weekend in February.    Alastair.

@Lyttoncpr
I'm glad there was not too much disruption, Alastair. Sorry manflu prevented me from being there but I wanted to be well for the Preston show, which now has been cancelled due to the weather :doh:

Thanks, newportnobby. We had a good weekend, glad the snow waited until today and even now it's not bad. We always  worry as we've had a few near things in the past. Sorry you couldn't make it, hope you've now recovered.  Alastair
