REVOLUTION TRAINS 3 YEARS OLD (ALMOST)
« on: September 11, 2017, 01:15:40 AM »
Hi All,

Well after another fun weekend with Revolution Trains at TINGS I thought it was only right to note the land mark of the first in what is quickly becoming a line of amazing models coming close to arriving in the UK. Since then they have given us the chance to obtain models that if it wasn't for them we may still be waiting to get a chance of owning!

So Left to right:

Class B Tanker - First Deco Samples.
Class 92 - First EP running prototype.
TEA Tanker - The first ready to run crowdfunded model!!
KFA Container Wagon - First Tooling Sample complete with 40ft High cube in conjunction with C-Rail.
Class 390 Pendolino - First Production Model, to be arriving in the UK in late November and the first motorised ready to run crowdfunded model!

I for one have to say a massive thank you to @red_death and @Ben A for all their hard work they have put in around a full time job to bring these amazing models to us and the no doubt many more in the pipeline! But also a massive congratulations to them both on their amazing models they are bringing us and their hard work been rewarded.

Happy Birthday Revolution Trains .
And again thankyou to Ben, Mike ,Jason and all the team for all their hard work .The fully functional Pendolino as we will recieve it very soon was amazing and I cant wait to see mine running on my G W R main line and before anyone criticises me Ive allways said I am a real rule one man and the Pendolino was a  must have  set .
Allthrough the development of this fantastic model Ben and Mike have kept us up to date on the problems and how theyve solved them such as the first coupling system and various other problems and allthough  much later than they originaly planned the release date  Im  pleased that.THEY have done the development and not released it early  just to meet the deadline  and left us to find any faults ,as Ive said before I particularly like the fact that each coach is marked underneath with very clear markings for the order in which to make up the rake that helps idiots like me.
Heres looking forward to the next three years and many more .

I too would like to publicly thank and congratulate @Ben A and @red_death for their huge effort and success.

I said to Ben on Friday that I can remember him and Mike running around Warley three years ago handing out leaflets for the Pendo.

At the time I was routing for them, and full of admiration for all those who backed them, especially those who did so purely as a rule 1 purchase to make it happen. I was sad that my circumstances could not allow me to be one of them. However, a couple of years later they go and announce the 92 and I was thrilled to be able to jump on board.

Well done guys!

Hi all,

Thanks to Gareth for posting that great photo.  I think I might pinch it!

It was three years ago that Mike and I were talking informally to people about the serious possibility of crowdfunding a Pendolino model and we should in particular thank Chris Marchant (CJM) for some excellent advice at that time.

Revolution Trains itself came out of the failed Kickstarter scheme that led to "Plan B" where Rapido agreed to go ahead with the model even though we fell short; the Revolution website went live on Feb 1st; the day after the deadline for Kickstarter backers to get their Plan B pledges in, so I guess that is the official birthday.

Still, it's great to see what modellers working together can achieve - and I think Gareth's Project Railway Honour Patriot loco deserves an honorary mention here too!

Thanks to all who have and continue to support us.

Cheers

Ben A.
