Looks okay 'as is' Roger. Could you temporarily fix some bushes on the edge, just to see what it looks like?

Next time the camera is out I'll give it a try. Might be difficult as the slope there is very steep.

I took another look at the most recent view of the north end of the layout and realised that I could rotate it a bit and do a tighter crop with this result.

Hi Roger,

more great photos as usual  :D

I've just about exhausted everything I can photo on Windmill Hill, so I guess I'll just have to build another layout ....... lucky mine don't take up much space  ;D

Glad the gardeners are keeping things tidy over at Wrenton, and glad all is well with you

All best wishes

Kevin

I just cropped the same photo even tighter! Gives a better view of the cottage's garden. The lady of the house off to do some shopping, her husband busy tending the veg.

I tried adding some bushes - had to hold them in place with pins. They'd probably look better when glued into place, but this does seem to make a better transition between the layout and the temporary background trees.

A definite improvement.  How do they look in the flesh?
With kind regards

They didn't look too bad, Laurence. The front edge of the baseboard has a few inches of bushes up to the angled corner so that I could make the fence disappear into them, bushes being easier to replace than broken fencing. The new 'growth' just seemed to continue that line and looked reasonably natural. I've unpinned and removed them but I'll glue some into position and do some pics - probably not today, though, as the weather is too good not to be in the garden!

As predicted, no progress on 2mm scale plants, but some full sized ones planted instead. So here's another shot of the Church Hill, this one taken using the boom arm placing the camera over the layout.

That's a cracking shot, the modelling looks superb.

I see it's nearly a week since my last post. Must be a record... Blame lockdown lethargy. Anyway, back to that baseboard edge where I've now fixed some bushes. Here are a couple of shots showing how the corner looks, both taken without any temporary background in place so you can see the result as I usually see it.

I was thankful for the break - it has given me some time to think of other words that mean the same as 'excellent'!  ;)
