Shooting from the front of the layout, as usual, a 4F arrives with a (probably unprototypical) train of assorted vehicles.

Interesting train consist behind the "Jinty with a tender" (always comes to mind whenever I see a 4F).

Any details, please, Roger?

Looks like a southern PMV behind the loco, a box van,    an ex GW siphon 3rd van, box van , ex Horsebox and a MK 1

Yes but I was wondering if there was a reason for that particular combination of stock.

I just grabbed a few vehicles that rarely appear on camera! As I said on yesterday's shot of the same train it's probably not prototypical.

looks pretty prototypical for a parcels train, any vehicle would (and usually did) do. as always Roger a delight to the eye

Regards,

Alex

If you google 1950s parcels trains @Bealman look at Steve-banks.org there are lots of photos with a variety of miscellaneous vans

I should have mentioned that a parcels train was suggested by @Newportnobby - thanks Mick!

All the layout's a stage,
And all the vans and coaches merely players:
They have their exits and their entrances...
