I see Hattons are using a picture of Wrenton as a backdrop for advertising tools on Facebook, youre getting a bit famous .

Apologies to anyone in advance that thought the previous picture was the 'bees knees' but you really can't beat an 'A4' :)

Thanks Rich. I think seeing A4s in service is one of those indelible memories.  I used to see them at Harringay, they were always a special treat.

Hope your feeling a lot better

Not feeling at all good, Kevin. Having a CT head scan next Monday so maybe some hope for improvement in the coming weeks. I tried taking some photos last week (including the last three posts). A fourth shot involved one of the coal trains which, as is the way with Peco wagons, managed to become uncoupled. I felt so shaky that applying tacky wax and re-coupling them finished up with half the train de-railed! Definitely no model making possible at present. I've just got back from the GP's with some tablets that have helped a bit in the past. Fingers crossed...

And on their Twitter feed, too! They did ask, and gave me a couple of discount vouchers.

Sorry about the health problems Roger, hopefully the scan will show that there is nothing serious. Congratulations on having your pictures used by Hattons - that's recognition!
David.
I used to be indecisive - now I'm not - I don't think.

Sorry to hear of your health problems Roger, not been too good myself over the last few days ok now I think. Your health matters more than the layout so hope you get better soon then we can see more of your superb pics of the layout.

Thank you for all the kind wishes.

That problem with the coal train uncoupling happened when I was taking this photo. All I wanted was the tail end of the train. Should have just moved the brake van and three wagons!

Another great pic. Very reminiscent of the front cover of a RM mag from 1957, featuring Stephenton as Railway of the Month.

Regarding health issues, I'm having an issue with my ankle again, but I'll pm you rather than bore members and hijack this great thread.

Here's another page from the postcard album. When this phone shot first appeared hereabouts and in colour it included a couple of cars which I've removed digitally to preserve the period look.

Your modelling skills are truly superb Roger. The first time I saw some of your sepia postcards I thought they’re were a real village - the same can be said with this one.
Cheers Derek
