My dads american layout
« on: January 22, 2012, 07:13:27 PM »
During an short notice visit to my parents this weekend i took some pics of his layout under construction in the spare room (now i've gone) it's built on 50mm polystyrene sheet on wooden supports (Some of my west african mahogany!!) most of the track layed droppers fitted the goods yard to lay then scenics it will be DCC
It has a swing out section at the door for easy access.

Door open swing section in situ

The right hand side

The lines behind the raised section will be hidden behind scenics

I think it's modern all diesel anyway

Here's a sneaky peek into his stock drawer

the track is glued down with copydex and UHU por foam friendly glues. I like the foam idea easy to create rivers cuttings etc. We have family in Canada so inspiration and ideas gathered during visits.

I spot some Kato packaging - no doubt we'll see some excellent running quality from this layout!
