At 16.99p it is not a lot to loose if you find it is not up to much, but being cordless, it does have some advantages over a corded one. Whilst I have only used mine 3 or 4 times, I found it quite adequate for what I was doing at the time.  :beers:

Could just about lift ONE to get it to the car, had to go back in for the other one ;) You'd never get them on the plane, and if you did it'd probably cost more in freight charges than the cases cost to buy! :D

Oh I can get round that one Paul!  :P

Whilst on the subject - do you have the "rough" dimensions and weight when they are packaged up? In all honesty your sentiments are correct - not impossible for me to bring them back, but it would be a hassle. I'm actually thinking of making my own. Have a mate who lives up the road and between us I think we have the tools to rebuild London Bridge! Oh yes, and he's got the knowhow  :D

Box size approx 112cm x 70cm x 6cm

Weight approx 25Kg

Having decided exactly what to do with them I went into Lidl last week to get another one and they've gone now, have to wait until next time they're on offer to complete my cunning plan now ;)

Thanks Paul. Yup, a bit of a pain to get on a plane ... especially the weight!

Do share with us your plan of what you will do with them.

I'm quite jealous that you guys can get your grubby mitts on them, yet I can't!  :veryangry:

I've had one forra few years now and tbh, they are just about every bit as good as the dremel (which I have also owned). I took advantage of the latest offer by buying one of the accessory kits for just 11.99.

They also have sets of diamond needle files come up a couple of times a year. I've found them very useful and good value.

Of course, you can always pay 2-3 times as much for virtually the same items carded, and sold specifically as a modellers tool...

Doom mongers on here whinge about inferior tools, but unless it's drilling and banging major work, for heaven's sake, we don't need Makita or DeWalt.

We are working with N gauge here, and cheap tools will do the job.

Lidl currently have some handy mini tools on offer. Just acquired a mini tool kit (screwdriver bit holder + 4" extension + 30 various bits + small cutters + small magnifying glass + 1 off - tweezers) for 5.99 and a cordless mini soldering iron complete with a fine tip for 6.99. Will give the soldering iron a go asap and let you know what I think.
