First layout - again.
« on: April 16, 2020, 10:20:15 AM »
After previous attempts being too much, I have decided to take on a smaller sized layout. This is the current track plan with the aim for future extensions around the board.
I have got the track laid and I am at the point of doing the electrics. I am using the gaugemaster gmc-pm10 point motors. https://www.gaugemasterretail.com/magento/brands/seep/seep-gmc-pm10.html and the GM510 switches. https://www.gaugemasterretail.com/magento/gaugemaster-gm510.html
We have tried looking for videos on how to connect these to eachother and the GMC-Q controller https://www.gaugemasterretail.com/magento/model-railways/gaugemaster-controls-brand5/gaugemaster-gmc-q.html but have not had any success. Please could we get any guidance that you can offer. Also, would you reccomend using the CDU along with this? Thank you in advance.

On the track plan, the green crosses are roughly where power connections are and the red lines are insulated fishplates.

Can I ask what track system you're using please.
Generally it is always recommended to use a CDU with point motors to avoid burn outs.

Thanks Liam.
I think we agree on feeds and insulated joiners but my poor sight couldn't make out your colours even after magnification so here's mine just in case
