If I had the link to edit I would add a few tarmac and cemex. I went mostly for db ones thinking they are updated branding for ews construction

It was the weight difference between the materials that intrigued me. That said, I know they've started reusing ex-National Power JMAs on stone trains, some now branded as HKAs in DBS red IIRC.

According to my notes they are now JKA's

Hi Kaian,

I wouldn't worry - at this stage it's just the raw numbers that count.  If (as looks likely) we get to the required level of interest then when we actually open the model up for proper ordering you can decide exactly what you want.

Cheers

Ben A.

You sure? It's definitely HKAs that I see on the Crawley - Wembley flow. Google doesn't know about JKAs either?

Looks like they're always operated in a block working though, rather than mixed with JHA/JGA/HOA. Interested to see some PGAs on some of the rakes too.

The ex National Power JMAs became HKAs when they had new bogies fitted.  I've just modified a load of Farish HHAs into HKAs and had to put the individual letters into the TOPS panels- so they better be HKAs!
I'll endeavour to put some photos up sometime.
Looking forward to the HOAs for the Mendip rail services.

Hi Pete,

I'd certainly be interested in seeing the photos of your conversions.  What livery are they in?

Cheers

The JMAs were re-coded to HKA (and many were re-bogied from LTF25s to TF25s).

The Farish HHA (as Pete has done) is very similar to a TF25 bodied HKA (there are a couple of very minor differences IIRC e.g. there is an extra bodyside cut out (for a brake lever?) on the JMA/HKA compared to the HHAs).

Cheers, Mike

If HHAs didn't command such a premium these days I contemplated doing a rake, the DBS red ones are very shiny, in stark contrast to the incredibly worn out NP ones, something a bit interesting!

Hi Ben & Mike
Really delighted that Revolution will be doing these wagons. At last something modern to be hauled by my Class 59s.
Expression of interest completed. Can't wait to process an order.
Have a great Christmas!!

The expressions of interest for the HOA have been excellent.  In our next newsletter (due out before Christmas) we will announce that the expressions of interest will close on 31 January and we are confident that there will have been enough interest to start design and tooling.

So if you are interested in these wagons then please fill in the expression of interest form on our website by 31 January if you haven't already done so.  Expressions of interest are not binding so they don't require any commitment (or money!) from you, but they are really helpful for our planning to work out likely sales, prices and which livery/number combinations to offer (all the liveries have been popular though we might not be able to offer two different triple packs of each livery).

Cheers, mike

Hi All,

Just one of note as I passed not sure what the place is called but there is a flow to Salford its a aggregates company (strangley enough) between salford Cresent and Central.

They are rail served and literally just gone past and there was 3 HOAs mixed in with some HTAs been off loaded, I didnt even realise that place was served by rail till now but proof in the pudding these wagons get about

Hi Gareth,

The location you spotted is Salford Hope St, and it is on the map.

Cheers

Ok after been corrected for my glaring oversight! I have had a quick look thought the formation of the Wagons at Salford and from what I can see it may be typical of what normally goes into their (rake length wise) the formation was:

HTA / HTA / HTA / HOA (DB RED) / HTA / HTA/ HOA (EWS) / HTA / HTA/ HOA (EWS) / HTA / HTA, there was no loco with the wagons so not sure if they have been left till after the new year

Its a shorter rake but from what I would tell it seems rather compact there, if I get a chance I will have a wonder down over the coming days to get a better look and get some pics if possible

It would be good to see how full the HTA's are. I'm guessing 2/3, but with rock being much denser than coal maybe less then that.

From memory there are no convenient overbridges near the terminal, but there are plenty of vantage points as they pass through Man Vic
