My buildings
« on: January 21, 2019, 02:19:55 PM »
My layout is currently vertical in a spare room awaiting house renovations and as I can't / don't want to post photos of its pitifully slow progress here is an initial taster, featuring various buildings which I have almost completed in anticipation of the day, just over an ever-receding horizon, when they can be planted trackside.

First up is a Greenmax industrial building. This kit allows you to build two separate buildings but I stuck them together to make one longer structure. I have another of these kits and will probably take the same approach with that too. Apart from that I built it pretty much as standard, but I've added internal lights and the whole thing has been weathered to (hopefully) give the impression of filth and grime, a theme which will pervade the whole layout. Very much not sunny skies and GWR branchlines.

As usual, close-ups can be cruel so please be kind with any comments!

Crackin' job.
“We are indebted to those soldiers who served with courage and distinction to bring peace to Northern Ireland,” UK Defence Secretary Gavin Williamson said. “The welfare of our former service personnel is of the utmost importance.”

Grand job!
Personally I like to see close ups as they reveal missed bits I can then try to put right.

Wow, that looks fabulous, I have seen a lot of bad painting excused by "well it's supposed to be run down"

My opinion is it takes far more skill to create a good "filthy and grimy" look on a building and you have done this so well

Thank you for showing the pictures  :D

All best wishes
Kevin
