Friends, I did not attend TINGS nor am I taking as much interest in the forum because I have now been diagnosed with blood clots in both legs that will lhopefully respond to yet more drugs,

I just feel lousy.

I'm sure you feel rough, Peter.

But try to enjoy what you can from each day. On a day like this, with plenty of sunshine, I'm reminded of a poem about an old, convalescent cat. Its owner muses on the simple pleasures the cat can still enjoy, postponing for another year that one-way trip to the vet. It's not a sad poem though, but one filled with hope of a sort; even if limited to that cat doing little more than to "lie stretched out, contented, revelling in the heat, his fur all dry and warm".

Find joy where you can, Peter, not least of all in the high regard you're held in by your friends, and even those who you've never met, like those here.

I am so sorry to hear of another issue resulting in more drugs, Peter, especially as, probably like many of the elder statespersons on the forum, I hate taking all this chemistry into my body.
I have to assume you are now taking blood thinning meds so please be extra careful.

Peter, it's such a shame that you are suffering so badly. I really feel for you.
I do hope that the various drugs will take effect and that you can start to enjoy life again.

Hi Peter

I don't know you at all well, but I would like to wish you well. I hope the only drug you need is warfarin. My wife is on warfarin as she has an artificial heart valve and pacemaker. Once you get used to the regime and the regular blood tests, it is just another part of life.

In any case, I hope things pick up for you very soon. I'm not a regular in the forum by any means, but I enjoy "lurking" and watching what people are saying here. You can always do the same.

As the saying goes, "I don't know you from Adam", but, having been a member of the forum for some 20 months now, I feel that I have got to know you a bit. Blood clots can be dodgy as I know from personal experience. Hopefully, like me, you will be off the rat poison in six months and can get back to normal.
As an aside I had blood clots on both lungs which meant that walking across the hall to go to the loo left me gasping for breath. After a spell in hospital the consultant told me of the clots. My wife said to him that she was worried they could go to my heart or brain, to which he replied "They could kill him where they are!" Not the answer she wanted!

Peter, along with your other (many) NGF friends I wish you well with these latest developments and hope that whatever you get up to here, whether lurking or posting, it's a little bit of normality (as much as us lot can be considered "normal" of course) that you can rely on and get some enjoyment from.

What we're up to here is only little trains after all and in the overall scheme of life very insignificant, but if looking at what tiny delights someone has created gives you even a small amount of pleasure then the NGF has done its job in my opinion.

So, little trains then... they mean nothing but can mean everything.
