A bit of progress, just laid glass. The satiny fabric with red tracer is peel ply that smooths out the edges and helps it all stick together. It means that the frayed edges aren't  an issue. As the name suggests it's peeled off when the resin sets.

mm yes, I'm open to suggestions on clever ways of providing "scenery" protection? I guess the odd avalanche barrier, tree, lineside equipment etc might help but they might not be significant enough?..

What about floating clouds as catch nets? (cotton wool clouds sticking out from the mountain on transparent plastic stalks) :)
