Thanks Derek :)

With the brushes out, I started repainting the two short carriages I had earmarked earlier to become the refresshment cars on the old bay platform (from stripping these, I can see that they were 2 of the old Shredded Wheat promotional carriages from some years back).  I really must make 2019 the year I get more accomplished with an air brush.  Painting plan is to paint in the cream and then mask off to apply the green later.

2 of the tankers I am preparing require a "subtle" tangerine colour (right up my street for other reasons!)... I tried one colour straight from the tube, but wasn't right, so spent a bit of time mixing up something more akin to what Robbie shows on his website and tried again.  The one on the right is the 1st version, the one on the left being the 2nd attemp (just one coat applied here)

Was a day of great delight in Perthshire though as the return from major overhaul of CR Type 439 tank loco number 419 made it's long awaited return (huge thanks to Gideon and Douglas at Wickness) - a small gala day was held, with the other CR loco's and rolling stock making a fine display and homecoming affair

A much bigger event is planned for the summer, when it is hoped to run a rail tour comprised of only CR loco's and carriages to some former CR locations.

Here is how the Carriage & Wagon Dept looks this morning

The Heritage Diesel group are also progressing well with the restoration of the former LNER J45 diesel shunter, has now returned from the loco works at shed 68B with a fully overhauled engine and lots of modern computerised gizmo's fittted (short hand for the chassis is back from Wickness and now DCC fitted) :)

Following the feedback from the forum, the greenkeepers at the golf course did some severe pruning of the decorative trees around the 8th green

Feedback from the golfing public was very positive (well by those who managed to avoid putting their approach shot into them!)... looks like young professional Nick Faldo seen here just off the green during a practice round in August 1977 before he went on to win his first professional tournament at Gleneagles, went close on this occasion!

Thatís quite a production line you have there.
If it looks right then it most probably is right.

Thanks Martin, it's quite daunting when you see them all laid out like that!

There was a Kind of Hush in Perthshire, and after a few Rainy Days & Mondays, it felt like Yesterday Once More (yes....The carpernters have been hard at work) as the conversion of two old 4 wheeled coaches into corridor coaches was completed so that they could be repurposed into refreshment facilities.  Looks like Martin & Bertie are visiting to inspect the new facilities :)

Some of the first ones to be completed start to roll out of the wagon works

:hmmm:   what's this wagon doing in Perthshire .......

Rumours that Trotters independent Trading were looking for business opportunities in Perthshire were gaining momentum

Del boy was tickled pink that his set of wheels were in such glorified company on the journey north (looks like it has lost it's roof rack along the way though)

.... and the tower block apartment in Muthill that they secured as a base for their enterprise suited them just fine!

That Reliant Robin of theirs made it up to Scotland pretty quickly.
Presumably by motorail from St Austell.
If it looks right then it most probably is right.

The new refreshment carriages in place, bit more work to do on the detailing side, but gradually bringing this area together

2 more completed Tullibardine Whisky Vans were seen on the branch line being moved from the C&W works to the Distillery, the C&W team are working round the clock to get suffiicient stock ready to distribute around the network .... to support cross channel exports, they are also working on a ferry van to make sure that vital supplies reach the port of Regleun & beyond

and lastly for today, a couple more finished vans await collection by a local frieght for onward distribution

I like the refreshment coaches.  Presumably, they will be able to serve Tullibardine (in small drams of course!).
With kind regards
Laurence

Your quite right Laurence, the original inception of the PRPS was the coming together of the distillery & refinery to keep the branch open to support their operations and the distillery maintains a strong interest in it to this day, samples of it's wares are available at all 3 stations and the loco crews enjoy some staff discounts and occasional free winter warmer during the santa special season
