BR light blue / refrigerator colour
« on: January 01, 2018, 01:47:22 PM »
Happy New Year all,

Finally getting a few days of 'light work' at the moment so with the rain pouring time to tuck away into the 'office' and catch up.

Currently ploughing through 50 various peco wagon kits. 8 of which are 10ft refrigerator type box vans, knowing that they were painted light blue can anyone recommend a nice close match? Railmatch don't list the colour, they will be heavily weathered as I'm sure they lasted all of 10miles that colour buy be nice to get the base quite close.

Many thanks

Craig

Look towards the bottom of the page, it's a list of alternative colours relating to all things railway, hopefully it will help you make an informed decision.

Thanks for the input. Lot of difficulty reloading the links from railway guns post and Bob not convinced that the vw pargas blue is light enough.

Might just guess with a bit of blue grey and white,  chances of all 8 being the right colour are slim but doubt that was the case in existence anyway.

I'm not giving up so hopefully find something. I was hoping it had already been discovered.

8 identical wagons whole be a “ fresh from factory” delivery”.

Normal weathering and age will oroduce an infinite range of shades so make them all unique!

I used Humbrol Matt 65 enamel, easy to source

When compared to the Farish RTR wagon it is a little lighter but as pointed out once even lightly weathered the colour will be just fine
