I've restored all my images in this thread (except a few I lost forever), since the Photobucket disaster. I'm back in the running...  :)

Thank you for the thumbs!

@Mito : you are right. Some guy in Spain managed to claim royalty for the 100 year old music!?  :dunce: I've replace the music by other 1920 stuff; less catchy, but alas. The music is secondary. I hope you are able to see the video now.

Now I see it   A lovely video. I like all the different types of locos. What was the problem with the brown one, with the wheels locking up?

Just lack of some librification. Most of my locomotives need in one way or another some care. A matter of dedicating some time for it. ;)

Hi Michiel,

Great video. I especially love the London-Brindisi Express.

Please keep'em coming.

Cheers weave  :beers:

Thank you, Weave. The English connections of the Luxemburg station in Brussels are not far away. It were the English who financed the building of the station and railway line through Belgium to Luxemburg during the 1860's-1870's. They looked for a faster route to the Eastern colonies, avoiding the slow detour by ship by Gibraltar. Other British influences will appear at due time (Mac-Intosh locomotives, English troop transport trains from Germany to Ostend/Dover,...). Belgian and British rail a century ago had a lot in common.

Hi Michiel. Excellent progress and great video. It looks like you are building the station to actual scale size (judging by the aerialpic and your overlaid trackplan at the start of the thread) which is impressive. Does the prototype still exist? I've tried to find it on Google Maps but without any luck. Has it changed beyond all recognition?

The original station has been reduced to a mere 6 platforms, buried under ground. Now the buildings of the European Parleament are filling the space on top. Nothing is left except the facade of the ancient station building. So yes, it changed beyond all recognition. I'm trying to unbury the memories of the old days when the station was glorious, famous and steamingly busy.

If the station has been buried then we really NEED your layout! Hope you are able to find enough images/info on the original. About the last video - is there a track that crosses the mainlines at the right hand end at 90 degrees?
