One of the downsides of Kato is that it can look more like a train set rather than a layout so your scenic work to break it up will be important especially in a confined area. No issues with the 2 points as long as it works for you in terms of running trains.
Kato track is great for running trains and you can get matching ballast which will help the scenic side of things and this is where it will test you. Don't be put off though, there is nothing quite like a train running through a well thought out scene.
