Sadly running-in will have to wait until the extension work is finished. I barely have enough room for my laptop, never mind a circle of test track. :(

Can you beg, steal or borrow a rolling road?

Not without attracting the attention of the local constabulary.  :hmmm:

Mine was waiting for me when I got back from the Dorset steam fair on Monday but I had to wait until Wednesday to give it a go, but I wasn't disappointed - the detail is jaw droppingly good, and straight out of the box (after oiling) ran beautifully - putting it next to Farish ones (both Poole & Chinese made) showed them to look crude by comparison - they will have to be replaced (my wallet just fell over in shock again).

My D1000 has arrived and it looks beautiful! Every inch as good as the 00 version.  :NGaugersRule:

If you want someone to run it in for you I'm prepared to shoulder that burden  :D

It will be a hardship to have such a beautiful loco on my layout but I'm prepared to make that sacrifice for a fellow N-gauger  :laugh3:

Absolutely excellent model. Runs very smoothly and quietly and looks stunning. I am confused by there being only 4 pipes in the detailing pack when there should be 10. Apart from that no complaints at all!
Cheers,
Ian.

As built D1000 only had a vacuum pipe and steam heating pipe each end. That could be why, but it may have had the two extra cables each end by the time it the yellow panels were painted on like the rest of the class had when built.

Thanks for that info Bernard. The instruction sheet is probably generic.

Mine arrived today... sweet :)

Plus the Dapol website is now saying "N gauge Westerns ARE nearly here!' ???

(Dapol's emphasis) - could this actually be true...

Hi ,
The nearly here and reversed picture on website been "up" for several weeks, given its six weeks by boat dock - dock then trasporting and customs bothsides allow two months. Given D1000 here I guess others are made but just waiting on the supply chain! -and all that dealing with China entails, Hopefully before Christmas is my outside guess - but it allows for sooner - all the "players" that use china report increased labour costs and industiral relations issues as cheap labour with no conditions has passed the country in quickly learning about real labour power/ shortages. As a result delays- Hornby have almost a year backlog from promised dates, Bachmann giving only likely dates. Dapol have shown dates but slippage now months. The long promised Club boxed set -nowhere in sight, perhaps on the openday?
At least it means "we" can save up money to pay for this little beauties!
