I was getting worried they were in the shop that sunk off the coast of holland!  I'm sure they have been cooking soon since September 2017!

I think you're asking for trouble having a shop off the coast of Holland ::) ;)

But not all the liveries. According to twitter it will be Northern spirit TPE and tyne an wear. I have a northern one on order so just like the prototype they are delayed. For many the day is finally here. Can't wait to hear and see what they are finally like.

Meh. :unimpressed:

Any enthusiasm I had for this model - and for years I was enthusiastically planning to get 2x in ATW livery - has long since evaporated. To those with more stamina, I salute you.

So photos of one in the flesh over on FB. A highly visible chassis trailing red wires everywhere, no close coupling and seemingly including the body errors bought up years ago. The only model not only to have not been improved from the initial CAD but to have actually made a step backwards.
This is not Dapol bashing as I would be as disappointed with any manufacturer that took this long to develop a item then IMHO manage to produce something that doesn't even meet the first CAD. All manufacturers, Dapol included, have managed to hide or at least disguise the chassis for over 30 years but somehow they've decided not to bother. Perhaps they didn't have enough development time and have had to rush it ;)

 :censored: :censored: :censored: :censored: :censored:

I'm really disappointed with the 142's appearance, whilst the body looks pretty good, (not had a chance to compare it with photos of real thing yet) I can't say the same about the insides.

Just looked at the close up photos on TwitFace and the visible motor, wires and that horrendously large gap between vehicles is very disappointing. I understand it wasn't going to be easy to have a low slung motor, however the Japanese seem to manage it, but surely closer coupling is easily achievable these days, look at the Revolution Pendolino.

Will I buy one??, dunno yet I'll have to see one in the flesh and see if I can live with the issues above.  :hmmm: :hmmm:

Cheers

Neal.

Apart from changing ATW to read Northern Rail, my post would have been identical.

You can't beat a nice drop of Southern.

Gah!

I am vascilating major league over these.

I could probably scrape the pennies together if I make an agreement with Mrs S. That really would be it on the N gauge front for a while though and all sorts of goodies catching my eye atm.

Not impressed by first photos, but have now seen a video of one running and itís better than I thought (plus the corridor connectors look good to me gap wise).

If I donít get one now then I worry the price will go up.....
