Well Rails seem to think they're on their way.

I do hope that they are on their way, It must be a couple of years ago now but I remember talking to Dave at Dapol about them, he did say that they had other items to release before the 142 however I had no idea it would take this long.

I hope they turn up too.

Love them or hate them, they are a nice dmu to have on your 80's and 90's era layout.
I just want a Regenal railways and any other livery they ran in the north west.

Not sure RR is in their plans ? When they first talked about it they were just doing one set of liveries because they would need different mouldings for the doors on the others (bus doors that were hard to get through v replacement doors that jam all the time)

Is there any update on these units arriving in shops as seem to have been waiting ages for the ATW one to land!

I was told at TINGS that Joel had said that the engineering prototypes were awaiting a manufacturing slot which then has to make its way to Dapol HQ foe approval then the decorated samples need to be made and shipped over, again for approval and final acceptance before full production so mid to late 2014 is a likely and realistic prospect providing they don't get put on the back burner again as they have a lot of other models to get out.

If I remember rightly, the CAD drawings were released at the same time as the HST CAD's so it has been a fair amount of time since any real info has been released.

To equalise matters,Realtrack Models, whose oo gauge Pacer dmu has been ongoing for almost as long has just been released, not that we're really interested in oo gauge but it shows the timeframe needed to get these off a computer screen to the shops.

I remember seeing these announced on the DC Kits stand at exhibitions when they started with the commision of the Pacer right through the various phases to the ones for sale on the Realtrack Models stand at Model Rail Live.

I would also dearly love to obtain a chipped ATW liveried one of these, and being aware of the Hattons pre-order offer, I went to local suppliers Lord & Butler and agreed a pre-order price not too far from the Hattons one - (I have a voucher). I would appreciate any news of their appearance.

At Ally Pally, I was told the Pacers are probably at the back of the queue any probably won't surface until 2015.  :'(

Just bumping this topic because apparently according to BBC Look North the 142s can be modernised and we can keep them for another ten years! Hurrah (not) :censored:
At least Dapol might get them out before they do disappear off the network.

Cheers

There was some news and estimated arrival dates on the presentation that Dapol had on loop at TINGS.  I can't remember off the top of my head what they said, but it looked like they had some CAD and were talking about end of next year.

I've got a photo at home of the slide which I'll see if I can dig out.

Cheers, Mike
