thanks @Snowwolflair for the suggestion, at this stage I have only just started to dabble in DCC as I just retired and joined a club where I need it to run there. At home I am DC with no intention of moving just yet, I borrowed the Prodigy system to address the locos I want for the club and then to fault find. Sounds like this DCC game is going to cost me big time. will continue searching to see if I can find the CV setting in the short term.
cheers
Graham

Hi

It’s bit 2 of CV29 that enables running on DC. It’s possible that the prodigy is disabling this when you change the address.

There is a CV 29 calculator here
http://www.2mm.org.uk/articles/cv29%20calculator.htm

Read the value of CV29 before you change the address and note the value. Then program your new address and read the value of CV29.

If DC has been disable due then you can use the above calculator or post the values and I will tell you what value to enter to get DC running.

Cheers

Paul

thanks to all who have helped me out here, turns out the Prodigy Advance I borrowed to program the address's into my Pendolinos was not setting CV29 correctly. So reprogrammed with CV29 set to 38 and all works fine.
cheers
a very very happy Graham

Evening all,
Nick from Milton Keynes here.
So very glad this thread has at last settled down and we can enjoy our Pendolinos.
I received mine back in April and have just started to enjoy it.

I too had a niggle or two ( light bar not fitting coach J correctly, chassis clip on the outside of one coach, indifferent running of power cars, car K listed as Front instead of rear, Railcom identifying one power car and not the other).

Reading through this thread for the last 50 pages, I’ve gleaned lot of info.

1/ light bar issue is known about, I can live with it.
2/ chassis clip miss positioned at manufacture assembly now corrected.
3/ Indifferent running due to more running in required.
4/ My Ecos detected ‘Railcom’ and subsequently labelled power car K as ‘pendolino Front’ but not power car A.

Railcom needs activating on car A. Just changed this in CV29, tick box 4. Eureka! It now recognises car A as ‘pendolino Rear’.

Progress is good,, now to load up my kitchen table with my Kato semi permanent way to get the running in sorted.

All in all, very happy and would definitely go for another.

Many thanks to Ben and Mike for all your hard work and super calmness under all the last 5 months of what seems like a trip on the Misery Line.

Onwards and upwards!

Glad to see the “leftovers” are minimal, shows the project was a success, I remember a long time ago you mentioned Mr Kato was interested in one, hope he has his eyes open and a quick finger!!!

I tried to catch it, but my credit card galloped off and ordered a 9-car Pendolino.  >:D

Now all I have to do is hope it arrives on a morning when SWMBO is out with one of her friends...  :-\

I was refreshing the page every 30 seconds for an hour yesterday morning, then found the listing had been delayed today, when I was driving 360 miles! Thankfully my Mrs was with me and did the ordering for me!  Nimble fingers secured City of London sound within seconds of it going live!  Thankful she was so quick because all sound was gone within minutes!

I couldn't really afford it(not when I came home to a broken fridge?!) but I didnt have the money when they were first offered, and have lived with regret ever since!

Very much looking forward to it… shame my layout it a 1930s LSWR!  Thankfully I have a very rule 1 impression of Manchester Piccadilly on the other side of the room!

Time to get building, and free up some track!

My Pendolino arrived today. I thought I'd ordered a DC version, the order on the website says DC, the despatch note in the parcel says DC, but the label on the back of the box says DCC/Sound...  :D

If it is actually the higher spec model in the box sent to you in error (and not just the wrong label on the box), you have no automatic right to keep the higher spec model. You should report it to the vendor, who should then either confirm you can keep it at no extra charge, or arrange for exchange for the correct spec model at their expense but at your convenience. They may also offer you the option to keep the higher spec version for an additional payment which may be a reduced proportion of the difference in cost, but you have the right to reject that 'upgrade' offer and instead take the exchange for the correct spec model.
