Happy New Year Gideon, beautiful work on the manuscript!

THe M7 looks fabulous, the photo's I have of the prototype at Bo'Ness show the tank tops as blue, so looks spot on to me :)

I believe the Caly 419 has blue tank tops, so I'd leave them as is.

Cheers,
Alan

Brilliant - blue it shall be! :) I'm hoping to get the satin varnish on tonight...

He's back!

We missed you!

That 'manuscript' is absolutely amazing! Is there no end to your talents?

Questions:

1. How big is the baseboard of your test track?
2. Is that a Jubilee I spy in the depot?

Great to hear from you again.

Many thanks! :) I'm very pleased with the Desiderata - I hadn't done any calligraphy in a while so I was a bit rusty! The final version is attempt number 6 - I made spelling/spacing mistakes in the previous five. I cannot tell you how frustrating that is!!  :'(

The baseboard is (from memory) roughly 5 foot by 2 and a bit - I'll measure it properly and let you know. It is a Jube… :)

Crazy amounts of stuff on the go on the workbench at the moment, not all of if photo-worthy, but these two are just about there...

The Caledonian M7 is complete! Final varnish, coal load added and re-assembled. Just needs a quick run round the test track to make sure all is in order and then she's on her way home..

30700 Black Motor - final varnish on, loco re-assembled, smokebox plate/shedcode and route discs added. The discs need painting and weathering, but otherwise all done! :)

Lots more to follow...!

Superb work as usual sir

Incidentally, did anything ever progress with that cut down class 47 you had a while back? No worries, just curious.

Thank you! :)

Was that the 47 with the "fangs"? I think I had plans to make that into the Porterbrook livery... It's in the "really must get round to that" drawer, but now you've reminded me I will dig it out!

Yes I believe that was your plan, and maybe yours truely humbly suggested 47 807 be the subject (as Farish once did it’s sister loco 47 817).
