That's all I have to say on the matter.

...sometimes the dog bites you!

I can explain it to you...

...but I can't understand it for you.

The T9 and the M7 are both truly superb work. All that beautifully done lining is a superb achievement, Gideon.

I can only agree with the above comments - some excellent work there.

Not much photo-worthy in the way of loco development this week, so here's a quick update of Test Track MkII…

Getting there - I can't wait 'til I can run a loco all the way round (or indeed two, when both lines are finished!)

The layout's progressing well, Gideon. I particularly like the double track overbridge.

Lovely test track, Gideon.

That file looks a tad overkill or were you just adjusting your toenails?!  :D

:laughabovepost:  It is a little indelicate, isn't it...? Actually it's got quite a fine grit and it's great for filing the ends of chopped rails so they're nice and square. I wouldn't use it on my tootsies, though!!

Finally, the T9 is re-assembled, detailed and properly complete. :)

I have to confess... I'm a bit proud of this one

She'll be on her way to back to her (very patient!) owner shortly...

:thankyousign: Gideon. That really is superb work and very well worth the wait. I can't wait to have her coupled to a two-coach local Maunsell set at Cant Cove, in time for Christmas, 1962! There will be much excitement among the local rail enthusiasts that she has, finally, been released from Eastleigh Works after her prolonged Heavy General Overhaul (first, DCC fitting by Douglas, at Wickness, then painstakingly lined and detailed by yourself).

A very happy New Year to all!

After a small hiatus for Christmas and other non N Gauge projects, life is returning to normal at the Despair Depot...

Happiness is a full workbench:

The M7 conversion is all but complete - just needs a coat of satin and re-assembling (unless the tops of the side tanks should be black... anyone?)

Test Track MkII is coming along nicely - all track laid (bar the sidings), station built, lit and installed and most of the ballasting done:

Finally - and I know this has nothing to do with N Gauge, but it was on my workbench, so it counts... possibly the most beautiful thing I have ever made. My Christmas present for my girlfriend - "Desiderata", done in Blackletter. Indian ink, gold and copper leaf and poster paints (not to mention blood, toil, sweat and tears!!):
