I bought an Atlas Trainman set because I was curious about TrueTrack, plus it was probably about half of what they normally go for. I paid $95 (almost 75) for it including shipping, which really isn't bad if you consider the loco probably goes for about $70 and the five cars for about $15 each at least.

Also picked up these ICG cars for about $38 shipping included, so less than $10 a car.

Two items to add to my collection, both new:

Con-Cor dummy #0001-004488 RDC-1 in Great Northern livery. I now own 3 RDC-1s which will form the backbone of off-peak travel on the layout.
Intermountain 67044-08 3-bay Cotton Belt hopper

My Kato 156-0818 SP business car "SSW Cottonland" arrived from Hobby Search in Japan.

I'm unconcerned about Rapido couplings fitted to the model because two of my locos and a RDC-1 railcar are fitted with them.

I wasn't hit by Royal Mail's customs charges and it arrived well packed and safe. However their service was excellent, but it'll be rare that I order from overseas suppliers unless it's an item I'm interested in and is otherwise unavailable in the UK.

That is a good price for a DCC fitted engine and wagons - STOP IT!  ;)

Went to the LHS in Louisville today to get a few things for the Ratio kit I'm working on (paint and glue for the metal parts) and ended up leaving with 9 more freight cars.
First, a set of three Atlas N&W hoppers. I bought a bunch of these when they came out a month or so ago, but didn't get the N&W ones at the time.

Second, I bought two three car sets of R.J. Corman hoppers(this is one set). Six different roadnumbers total. Kinda neat to have something from my hometown railroad even though these cars don't run on any of the three Corman lines here in Kentucky. Finding a RJC caboose and loco to run with them will be quite the challenge.

Latest Ebay bargain - a new and unused (still in original wrapper) F40PH and 4 Phase III superliners.

Running just fine, compared to the old Deltic, even with my dodgy digitrax decoder. Will get a Zimo and new LEDs next week (after I blew out hte ones I had)

This is my latest Kato purchase. It is the 106-2016 'North Pole' set. As per usual with any Kato rolling stock, it looks beautiful and it runs very smoothly and quietly at all speeds. The locomotive has directional lights, the carriages are quite closely coupled and the last carriage has directional lights as well, (switched from underneath), red lights when being pulled and white lights when being pushed. Did I mention that it is a beautiful set?

I did not really want to buy the set, but the 2015 North Pole set was looking lonely and 'Train Trax' did have a discount .............  :claphappy:

I did do a short video of the set, but when I upload to 'YouTube', it only plays the audio - no video. More experimenting required methinks.

Not sure why, but by creating a new video without additional audio and then uploading to YouTube has worked.
